MiLANE begins her solo project with a rendition of Radiohead’s Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. The song’s tangled layers and the interlocking melodic lines set against agitated rhythmic patterns create an almost chaotic sense of movement. Yet her voice remains exposed on top of it all, turning the clutter into soothing melancholia. Alongside keys, synths and a persistent drum machine, she pushes and pulls between urgency and tenderness.
MiLANE sings songs from the living room. Preferring vulnerable expression over vocal perfectionism, her sound is raw and melodic. She layers a passionate voice with intricate piano and synth lines, drawing inspiration from Radiohead and Björk. From propulsive, energetic beats, to slow-burning tracks MiLANE holds tension and intimacy together like a late-night conversation, where the listener becomes the confidant.
